Here is how I work. First I ask you to provide information about your custom poem. Who it is for, the event which the poem is celebrating, details about the intended recipient. And so forth.

Once I have produced a first draft, I contact you and you review it. At that point you get to critique the first draft and provide further comments and suggestions for revisions or changes. I will take your comments and reword the poem. I will then resubmit it to you for approval. We go back and forth on this until you are either satisfied, or I give up in despair. If by some miracle I cannot produce a poem that satisfies you, I will refund your payment.

Now tell me a story. I want details that tell me WHY your special person is so special. Don't tell me your fiance is kind, wonderful, caring, gentle or generous. Tell me what he has actually done to make you think so. Telling me that Joe is a loving father doesn't say anything.

Instead, tell me that Joe skipped watching the Super Bowl to help his daughter make a new hutch for her pet rabbit. That says everything.

So give me the story, not the endearments.

Finally, provide any miscellaneous comments. This is where you tell me any particular words or phrases you would like included and any preferred style(e.g. serious, humorous.)
