Give A Personalized Poem to that Special Friend
Heroes
When nature's spiteful pleasure wreaks disaster on the lands,
And others can do nothing but stand by and wring their hands,
When fools waste time with finger pointing, finding fault and blame,
While starving wretches all around have nothing to their name,
When loathsome villains seize the chance to pillage loot and steal,
Attacking any whom they think may threaten their plum deal.
When one man moves to action to assist those in despair,
Bringing food and water, bringing precious hope and care.
Ignoring his own agonies to get the job well done,
Knowing help is needed now, not when some plan is spun.
When this man has worked until his back is bent in pain,
Stinking from the dirt and sweat, unwashed except from rain.
Doing what he can to help, wherever there's a need,
Asking nothing for his pains, rewarded by his deed.
When he lies exhausted, his strength completely spent,
After working days on end wherever he is sent.
When he knows the time has come and he can do no more,
I call this man a hero, throughout and to his core.
for a special friend, to let them know you care.
