A Decade and a Year
Eleven years ago we stood together, side by side.
Nearby a small and peaceful brook whose waters gently glide.
And not a day has passed in that eleven year long span,
That I have not been thankful for finding such a man.
The first time that I saw you sent a quiver through my heart.
It lingered there until I knew it never would depart.
It's stayed with me for all these years, growing day by day,
Strengthened by the love and care you show in every way.
Surrounded by a flock of girls, your patience never wanes.
With utmost love and gentleness you share their joys and pains.
This decade and a year have been a blessing from above.
Forever and for always, dearest Robert, you're my love.
For your spouse, your parents, or friends on their anniversary.
Whether first anniversary or Gold, I'll help
you speak from your heart.
